The hotel

Boutique townhouse in old Lisbon

The building was a merchant family's house for most of the last century. We kept the blue and white tiles in the stairwell, the iron balconies and the high ceilings, and rebuilt everything behind them.

Alfama is the oldest part of Lisbon. The lanes are steep and too narrow for most cars, so it is quiet at night. Fado bars, the cathedral and the castle are all within a ten-minute walk.

Questions

What guests ask

The four questions we hear most.

Can I get to the hotel by car?

Taxis can reach our door, but the last lane is steep and one way. If you are driving yourself, park at the garage on Rua do Terreiro do Trigo and we will carry your bags.

Is breakfast included?

Yes, when you book on this website. It is served at the table until 11.

Is the roof terrace open to visitors?

Yes. Hotel guests can always get a table; visitors are seated when there is space.

Is there a lift?

Yes, to every floor. The roof terrace is up one short flight of stairs from the top floor.
